What are your responsibilities?
I am the Student Coordinator for Asian Pacific Islander Program and Services. I create programming and services that help promote a sense of belonging and educate individuals who want to learn about the many different cultures within the Asian and Pacific Islander community.
What are your interests/hobbies?
I am an avid computer gamer, who loves to spend time delving into multiple genres of video games. My interests include traveling, dogs, cats, exploring new types of coffees, and researching the experience of transfer students, and the multiple intersectionalities they have.
Why do you do this work?
I do this work because I want to be able to make a difference within the Asian and Pacific Islander community at Fresno State through programming and services. I understand the importance of representation within Student Affairs. I believe that there is power in cultural appreciation and showcase. Being Asian American, I am sensitive to the unique challenges and lost identities we face as a community and I strive to ensure that there is an equitable representation for the various identities within the community. The work that I do within this role will assist in my long-term goal of becoming a staff member here at Fresno State; one that will continue to promote diversity and representation for all students.
