Assistive Computer Lab
The office of Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) offers an Assistive Computer Lab to students registered with the SSD and is located in the SSD office. The lab has computers equipped with a variety of Assistive Technology (AT) Hardware and Software, various software used on campus as well as a Pay-for-Print printer and copier. A Lab Technician will be available during lab hours to provide technical assistance with any assistive equipment and software in the lab.
Location:
SSD’s Assistive Tech Lab is located in Room 1203 on the first floor of the Library
. The lab can be accessed using the lab entrance in Room 1203 or by entering the SSD
office Room 1202 and entering the lab through the SSD lobby.
Fall and Spring Semester Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Summer Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Please Note: The Assistive Computer Lab will be closed until further notice due to COVID-19.

- Haptic Feedback Digital Timer
- Digital On-Screen Microscope
- Flat-Bed Document Scanners
- Noise Canceling Headsets
- Refreshable Braille Display
- Adaptive Mice (Trackball, Mousepad, Joy Stick)
- Adaptive Keyboards (Adjustable and High Contrast)
- Larger Monitors
- Headsets
The following assistive software is available in the SSD Assistive Computer Lab as well as Testing rooms:
- TextHelp’s Read&Write
- Freedom Scientific JAWS 17
- Nuance Dragon Naturally Speaking 15
All of the following software is installed on the computers in the Assistive Computer Lab and Testing rooms.
The following software is provided by Fresno State and is available in our Assistive Computer Lab:
- Microsoft Office
- IBM SPSS Statistics 25
- Respondus Lockdown Browser
- ANSYS MATLAB R2014a
- ANSYS Workbench 14.5
- ArcGIS 10.3.1
The following software is available in our Assistive Computer Lab and also available for free on personal devices:
- Microsoft Office - (Sign up using Fresno State Email and Password)
- Mozilla Firefox
- Google Chrome
- Adobe Reader DC
- VLC Player
- SQL Developer
