Renaissance Scholars Program
Foster Care Awareness Month 
May is National Foster Care Awareness Month! During this month, the Renaissance Scholars Program will be distributing teal ribbons at Fresno State to raise awareness and represent our current and former foster youth.
CSU Foster Youth Enrollment and Program Participation
Based on the 2022-23 CSU Foster Youth Legislative Report 2,700 current and former foster youth are enrolled in a CSU while 1,300 are participating in campus support programs.
Fresno State's Renaissance Scholars Program currently supports:
- 116 undergraduates, 83 of them are current or former foster youth
- 8 postbaccalaureate, all current or former foster youth
Foster Youth Education Outcomes:
69%-85% of foster youth complete a high school degree
29%-64% of foster youth enroll into college
8%-12% of foster youth earn a degree
