African American Student Recognition Ceremony (Black Grad)
Black Grad, also known as the African American Graduation Ceremony is the annual ceremony for graduating students of African descent designed to celebrate their academic achievements. This event is typically held on the Saturday of Fresno State's Graduation weekend.COVID-19 UPDATE: Unfortunately, we will not be conducting commencement ceremonies in May as originally scheduled. This decision, informed by guidance from public health officials, was not made lightly. We will continue to explore how and when to celebrate Commencement 2020, depending on the quickly changing situation. Black graduation happens every year in May during commencement season. Black graduation is open to any student that identifies as Black/African American/African/Black Diaspora. Registration for this event will be announced closer to graduation. Registration is required in order to be a part of the ceremony and receive graduation regalia and have your photo in the program. If you have any questions of concerns, please contact the Cross Cultural and Gender Center at 559.278.4435 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
