Student Success and Belonging Center (SSBC)

You Belong Here.

The Student Success and Belonging Center supports students in feeling connected, valued and prepared to reach their academic goals. It is an evolution of the Cross Cultural and Gender Center and unites identity-affirming spaces with student success programs that offer proactive guidance, peer mentorship and early support when challenges arise. By bringing these services together, the center creates a more seamless experience for students that honors their whole selves.

What we do

The center provides coordinated support that helps students navigate academic and personal challenges while fostering belonging and community. Students can expect:

  • Identity-affirming spaces and programming that honor lived experiences and intersecting identities
  • Proactive coaching and case management to support academic progress and personal well-being
  • Early outreach and intervention when students face challenges
  • Peer mentorship and onboarding for students new to campus
  • Clear pathways to campus resources such as advising, financial support and wellness services

Belonging and success are deeply connected. Students thrive when they feel supported, understood and guided.

Who we serve

The center serves all students, with intentional focus on those who may experience barriers related to:

  • Race and ethnicity
  • Gender and identity
  • Immigration status
  • First-generation status
  • Financial need
  • Other intersecting identities

Services are inclusive, accessible and responsive to diverse student needs.
