Parking meters are located at various locations on the campus (see map). Meters cost $2 an hour. Parking permits are NOT valid at parking meters.

Daily parking permit dispensers are located at the entrances to the campus, and in various parking lots (see campus map). These dispensers only accept VISA or Mastercard cards for payments. Daily permits are only valid in "Green/Student" parking lots, except after 6 p.m. After 6 p.m., daily permits are valid in all staff/faculty parking lots with the exception of Parking Lot P19. Lot P19 is a GOLD parking lot, and requires a special parking permit at all times.

Campus Bike Program

If you plan to ride your bike to campus instead of drive, it's a good idea to register your bike with the Fresno State Parking office. Having your bike registered aids in theft prevention, bike lock removal services, a courtesy contact if you're parked in the wrong place, and rideshare scrip for the alternative transportation program.

For more information about the Campus Bike Program, visit their website.

Fresno Transit

Students can buy Fresno Transit bus tokens at a discounted price from the USU Information Center.

For information on Fresno Transit routes, visit their website.

Scout Program

Traffic Operations, in conjunction with Services for Students with Disabilities, operates a program similar to a bus system for students with disabilities on campus. See the Scout Route Map for route information.

Please sign up for the Scout Program with Services for Students with Disabilities, located in the Library , 1st floor, South Wing, Suite 1202.

There are many services and programs on campus for students with disabilities. Please see their web site: Services for Students with Disabilities, at /studentaffairs/ssd, for more information.

Rideshare & Carpool Incentives

The GREEN section of Lot P30, just south of the Library , is reserved from 7 am to 6pm, Monday thru Friday, for students who are carpooling AND have received a student carpool permit.

After 6pm, the GREEN section is open to all students displaying a valid student parking permit.

Lot P30 will be monitored to ensure that each vehicle has:

  1. 2 or more students in the vehicle when parking
  2. a valid student rideshare permit (issued during the current semester)
  3. a valid student parking permit

Vehicles found in violation of these requirements will be cited.

Applications for the Student Rideshare Registration are available on the first day of each semester, at the Police Department. Student Rideshare Permits are issued on a first-come first-serve basis. There are limited numbers of applications and permits.

For more information and to sign up, please visit the Rideshare website.
