All high school students from school districts that sign an MOU with Fresno State
There is no sign-up cost for Bulldog Bound students and parents to join this program.
However, students may have to pay a small fee to take dual enrollment courses when
that feature becomes available.
Admissions and Recruitment will host some informational workshops at the high schools
or virtually in fall 2023. Students can join the program by signing an electronic
guaranteed admission agreement with Fresno State. Parents or guardians must consent
to the student’s participation.
Students who sign up will receive a Fresno State ID and a Fresno State email address,
giving them access to the Fresno State Library. Students will be invited to participate
in summer experiences at Fresno State. They will also have opportunities to attend
selected university-sponsored events. Participants will also benefit from various
services provided through Admissions and Recruitment at their school sites.
Parents will receive information about Fresno State to help them support their students
for a successful transition to the university. Parents will also benefit from parent
workshops.
Students are not obligated to Fresno State.
Students are guaranteed admission to the university as long as they meet the minimum
CSU requirements by the time they graduate from high school. If a student applies
to a program that is impacted, they will be required to meet the impaction requirement
for that program. Note: “Guaranteed” means guaranteed to the university, not necessarily
to a specific program.
At any grade level, a student can join the program and will be guaranteed a spot at
Fresno State. Juniors who are on track to meet the CSU minimum requirements will be
pre-admitted to Fresno State in the second half of their junior year (a year earlier
than most students are notified). Seniors who are on track will fill out the Cal State
Apply application in October and November and receive an early admission decision.
Those who participate in our On-The-Spot application workshops will be admitted the
same day they submit their application.
Fresno State is currently exploring ways to expand dual enrollment opportunities for
participants of this program. The goal is to allow juniors and seniors, who are academically
qualified, the opportunity to take Fresno State courses for credit. More information
will be provided on this feature.
Admissions and Recruitment will work directly with students and parents in the program.
Fresno State ambassadors will visit the participating high schools and engage with
the students to best prepare them for the university.
All programs and services provided by Fresno State are optional for students and parents.
Students and parents who participate in those programs will gain valuable information
about preparing for a successful career at Fresno State.
Students are still required to submit an official Cal State Apply admissions application
in the fall of their senior year. Students who participate in our application workshops
will be admitted on the spot.
This is a partnership. Some ways in which the districts can support their students
is by providing Fresno State access to work with them and their parents including
hosting events for them at the schools, and helping with transportation to Fresno
State events the districts choose to participate in.
No. Participants get access to the library and receive services from the Office of
Admissions and Recruitment. Bulldog Bound students do not receive access to other
on-campus services or support programs until they officially become a Fresno State
student.
Students come to campus to participate in programs designed for them. Possible activities
being explored include career exploration, student involvement, research experiences,
time management, study skills, and other topics that will prepare students to be successful
in college.
While Bulldog Bound does not guarantee admissions to impacted programs, we are prepared
to serve each and every student who is eligible and accepts admission to Fresno State.
