Fresno State's annual student-planned festival dates back to May 1975, when a collaboration between campus clubs inspired a tradition that would last for generations.
Bulldog Born
Fresno State Vintage Days was born from the dream of students to transform campus
life at Fresno State in the 1970s. Initially presented as an open house for the University,
a passionate partnership was born with the College Union (now the Student Unions at
Fresno State). The campus did not have the supplies to host a large scale live entertainment
event; however, this did not deter the students. A host of lively entertainment and
activities came together in May 1975 to become the inaugural "Vintage Days" as proclaimed
by then university president Norman Baxter.
A Bold Tradition
Vintage Days is the culmination of work year-round by a planning committee of students,
advised by staff within the Student Involvement Center. The festival has evolved to
become even more welcoming for the community to visit the beautiful campus of Fresno
State for three-days of entertainment, shopping and opportunities to support student
organizations.
Lifetime of Memories
Hundreds of thousands of attendees have danced, competed and strolled through the
festival since its inception. Whether you have visited once or are a regular guest
of Vintage Days, we welcome your memories, photos or video to share as we approach
the 50th annual Vintage Days in April 2024.
