Emergency Grants
Fresno State has an emergency grant for students looking for emergency assistance. The grant is a resource available to enrolled students experiencing unanticipated financial roadblocks that can impact degree completion and personal wellbeing. Students must have a FAFSA on file.
This short term help can be used for essential items, including housing, medical bills
and vehicle repairs (non-cosmetic), and you will be asked to provide an itemized list and to upload the receipts you are asking for assistance with. Before we can assist you, you will need to meet
with a case manger to have your eligibility determined. We also will confirm your
eligibility with financial aid. Once we have all the necessary documentation and financial
aid has determined your elligibility, your application will be sent to a committee
for final review. This process can take up to 3 weeks.
In order to qualify for this grant, applicants MUST meet the following requirements:
- Currently enrolled and have completed a minimum of one semester at Fresno State
- Meet with a case manager to have their eligibility determined
- Have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
- Must have taken $1,000 in loans during the semester applying
- Experiencing unforeseen circumstances
- Demonstrate current financial need with supporting documentation
Only one emergency grant application is allowed in a 12-month period.
