This session will explore popular student lingo, cultural references, and communication trends, so you're not left low-key lost in conversations. Participants will gain fire strategies to foster meaningful interactions and support students in ways that truly hit different. By the end, we hope you leave feeling less sus about Gen slang and more equipped to meet students where they are - no cap.

An introduction to the basics of what you need to know to successfully host an event on campus, including considerations for events that will cater to minors. Hosting events can require input from many different groups and departments. Learn what you need to do, and other considerations to ensure that your event is a success.

This session will explore the rising mental health challenges among college students, including anxiety, depression, and suicide rates, while highlighting the increasing openness to seeking help. Participants will gain practical strategies to recognize early signs of distress and support students in a proactive, holistic manner.

The workshop emphasizes understanding Gen Z's unique traits and preferences, particularly their tech-savviness, inclusivity, and focus on mental health and financial well-being. It reviews Fresno State student demographics and popular platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Twitter) to identify where engagement is most impactful.

Attendees will engage in reflective discussions on how Student Affairs professionals can enhance their services and create a more inclusive, supportive environment for this unique student population.
