We are glad that you are interested in returning to Fresno State! We recommend you meet with an academic counselor at the University Advising Center prior to beginning your application. If you have been out for one semester, you may log into your Fresno State Student Portal and register at the appointed time. Note: Registration time is November for Spring courses and April for Fall courses.
You must reapply back to the university if you have been out for more than one semester.
Former Fresno State students who left in good academic standing and are seeking readmission after an absence of two consecutive or more semesters (summer not included) must reapply for admissions at Cal State Apply.
If a returning student attended another college or institution after their last semester at Fresno State, official transcripts from those schools must be submitted.

Undergraduate students who were academically disqualified from Fresno State and are seeking readmission to the university must reapply at Cal State Apply and complete and submit the Readmission Petition for Disqualified Students.
Students who were academically disqualified from Fresno State are not eligible to reapply for admissions for at least two semesters following their disqualification. The following criteria must be completed to be eligible for readmission:
- Students must complete all lower division General Education (GE) requirements.
- If all lower division GE courses have been met, a student must complete a minimum of 6 units towards degree progress that are major or career related before reapplying.
- Students must demonstrate academic success in courses taken through Fresno State Open University or any other regionally accredited institutions. A student’s overall transfer work after disqualification must be at least a 2.50 GPA and the student must be in good academic standing at the last institution attended.
