Multiple Measures

There are several ways to determine which first-year General Education (GE) English and Math/Qualitative Reasoning (QR) courses are the best fit for each student. The CSU uses multiple measures to evaluate each student's academic preparation in English and Mathematics/Quantitative Reasoning (QR). These factors help determine the first-year courses that best support each student's academic success.

The CSU no longer uses ACT or SAT scores in determining admission eligibility for all CSU campuses; however, if admitted to a CSU campus, standardized test scores can be used as one of the measures to determine placement.
