Leadership Boards

Please review how each volunteer leadership board functions in order to serve students and the campus prior to applying. For reference, the time commitment and requirements for applicants is included below.

Campus Involvement Ambassadors (CIA) serve as a resource to students interested in becoming connected to the campus community through involvement. Members advise, facilitate and public speak in this role.


  • Prior involvement experience at Fresno State.
  • Enrolled as a part- or full-time student.
  • Attend meetings Fridays 1 to 2 p.m.
  • (4) office hours per week.
  • 2.50 GPA or higher (semester and cumulative) throughout application process and 2021-22 academic year.


  • Promote campus involvement by connecting students to clubs and events
  • Facilitate leadership retreats
  • Introduce students to leadership opportunities on campus
  • Tabling, presentations, and meeting one-on-one with students

Neighborhood Ambassadors are peer leaders who serve as members of the Off-Campus Student Life board and volunteer under the direction of the OCSL Graduate Assistant and Program Coordinator. A Neighborhood Ambassador will contribute to the development of the off-campus community by assisting with promoting and supporting an inclusive environment for commuter students while working collaboratively to build a community and a sense of belonging at Fresno State.


  • Must maintain a semester and cumulative GPA of 2.00
  • Must be enrolled as a Fresno State student during a year commitment
  • Must reside off-campus
  • Must attend all meetings and trainings


  • Completing 20 hours of service to OCSL per semester
  • Includes: Set up, running, and break down for OCSL events, tabling opportunities, office hours, and other tasks as assigned
  • Acting as a liaison between apartment complex marketing/leasing offices and OCSL

USU Board of Directors oversees the services and facilities of the University Student Union (USU) and Satellite Student Union (SSU). They are the student voice on matters affecting the USU and SSU.


  • Enrolled as a part- or full-time student.
  • Attend meetings Mondays 3:30 to 5 p.m.
  • 2.00 GPA or higher (semester and cumulative) throughout application process and 2021-22 academic year.


Establish policies, guidelines, budgets, and provide input about the programs and services that the USU and SSU offers. Examples of events include: Breakfast with the Board, Snack Days, Informational Tabling, etc.
