Common questions from our clubs & organizations

Advertising

  • Utilizing the outdoor kiosks; posting flyers, handouts, posters, etc. on them
  • Utilizing the indoor display boards throughout campus; see 'Need Permission' for restrictions
  • Use of H frames
  • Staking in flower beds or near trees; see 'Disallowed' for staking restrictions
  • Passing out handbills in the immediate area in front of the USU
  • Utilizing the restricted indoor display boards, with permission from the listed department (read board info)
  • Chalking around campus, with permission from Student Involvement at 559.278.2741
  • Hanging banners over the USU pit, with permission from the Reservations Office at 559.278.6024
  • Placing any promotional material on cars in the parking lots
  • Use of A frames
  • Staking of any kind in the Peace Garden

Fundraising & Finances

Clubs may use a number of methods to raise funds, such as:

  • Off-Campus Fundraising, i.e. partnering with a local business and giving out flyers for a percentage of sales 
  • Hosting an on-campus event and selling tickets that go to the organization or community cause
    • Logistics can be provided by the Event Review Committee. Contact Student Involvement at 559.278.2741 for more information.
  • Dues collected on behalf of the organization

Eligibility to fundraise on campus varies on a case-by-case basis. For approval, contact Student Involvement on the third floor of the RSU.

Due to state law, raffles cannot be hosted on campus.

Drawings can be held as long as there are no money transactions.

Where can we request funds?

  • ASI: Up to $3,000 per semester.
  • IRA: These organizations must have a direct connection to a department (with academic ties).
  • ASI also offers an on-campus bank account to all clubs.

Clubs cannot use Fresno State's or ASI's Tax ID. 

Tax ID numbers are issued independently from the IRS. Applications can be found Apply for a Tax ID here.

Serving & Selling Food on Campus

The Food Waiver form can be accessed Access the Food Waiver Form 

Complete and submit a Food Waiver Form detailing your request at least 30 days in advance of your event.

Only Pepsi products are allowed to be served on campus. A large water container with individual cups is OK.
