The Vision: Educating and bringing communities together to celebrate the Hmong people’s history, heritage, values, achievements, and contributions.

The Mission: To preserve, highlight, and appreciate Hmong culture, language, and history to enhance self-pride, increase sense of belonging, bridge communities among all generations, and encourage higher education.

The Art of Making Paj Ntaub “Paj Ntaub (also spelled "Paj Ntaub" or "Hmong embroidery") is a rich and significant tradition within Hmong culture, and it serves as an important way to express and preserve one's identity, heritage, and history. Through the intricate designs of Paj Ntaub, Hmong people not only communicate stories and beliefs but also connect with their ancestral roots, reinforce their cultural identity, and pass on knowledge to future generations.” Presenter: Cyndee Lor-Yang

Financial Aid Application Workshop for Seniors

Seniors, it's time to start or complete your Financial Aid application (FAFSA).

Attend this workshop and get personal assistance from the Fresno State Financial Aid staff to complete your FAFSA application for 2025-2026. Students should bring the following information in order to complete their application: 2023 Tax Return for both parents and students if applicable, 2023 W-2 and other sources of income earned in 2023 for both parents and students, Social Security Cards for both parents and students, Parent and student FSAID information. Threads of Identity, Exploring Hmong Clothing and Its Meaning

Designed for students of all ages, this workshop aims to educate participants on the significance of Hmong attire and the unique styles from various regions. In this interactive session, we will explore the meaning behind different outfits, highlighting the cultural stories and traditions woven into each piece. Participants will learn how to properly layer Hmong clothing, gaining practical skills while appreciating the artistry involved.

We will also introduce the names and functions of the various components that make up a traditional Hmong outfit, fostering a deeper understanding of its significance. Presenter: Daisy Thao

Hmong Identity in Higher Education and Careers

Join Fresno State SACC (Student Affairs and College Counseling) graduate students Kalue Yang and Kao Sheng Thao for a workshop aimed at empowering Hmong students and professionals to explore how their identity influences academic, personal, and professional aspects of their lives. Participants will engage in an activity that encourages reflection on the impact of their Hmong heritage in these areas.
