Probation and Disqualification

As an undergraduate student, you must maintain a 2.0 grade point average (GPA) to remain in “Good Academic Standing.” To determine your academic standing, both your CUMULATIVE GPA (all coursework attempted at all colleges) and your CAMPUS GPA (all coursework taken at Fresno State) are taken into account. If either of these grade point averages slips into the levels outlined in the chart below, you will be subject to either “Academic Probation” or “Academic Disqualification.”

Academic Probation
You will be placed on probation if either the total (cumulative) GPA or campus GPA falls below a 2.00 (see the above student level chart). You will continue on probation until both the total and campus GPA is 2.0 or better, or until your are disqualified under one of the provisions of the disqualification process.

Academic Disqualification
You will be placed in disqualification if either the total (cumulative) GPA or campus GPA falls below the levels on the above chart. A student who is disenrolled from the university for Academic Disqualification must reapply to the university in order to attend as a matriculated student. Students who are academically disqualified but allowed to continue as disqualified re-admitted students will be able to retain their registered courses for the next semester as per the provision of the disqualification regulations. Students on disqualified re-admitted status must obtain a semester GPA of 2.0 and receive no F’s or WU’s in order to continue the next semester.
